You know you can always turn to Instagram sensation Malvika Sitlani, AKA Mals, when it comes to perfecting makeup or for “feel-good vibes” through her “storytime” vlogs. With over seven years of experience in the beauty industry, Sitlani has become a repository of wisdom and knowledge. After winning hearts with her flawless content creation, the diva has now lit up her businesswoman profile by becoming CEO and co-founder of MASIC Beauty; the aesthetics and quality of its products contribute to making luxury items affordable for consumers.

Despite her recent introduction to the world of entrepreneurship, Sitlani’s first true calling was content creation. Taking inspiration from her stilted and poised mother, she always wanted to be in front of the camera. As a Bollywood enthusiast, she had a passion for drama and acting and this persuaded her to go the traditional route to mark her foray into the film industry – she thought of giving her best shot at beauty pageants. . But, there was a marathon of refusals.

Finally, she managed to win Femina Style Diva and officially became a runway model. Despite this fame, she struggled to support herself on little income. And so her blog, That Girl In Vogue, began.

However, she couldn’t make a lot of money out of it. That’s exactly when she realized that people like watching videos more than reading long blogs. And, here! There she was on camera filming her very first Youtube makeup tutorial: How to Get Fuller Lips. The rest is history…

Ask her what she advises all budding entrepreneurs, and she says one should find that awesome co-founder for their startup who shares the same passion and is willing to take on the burden. She also says that everyone should select their team members. It is important to choose people who will bring the brand to life by juggling endless roles.

However, it’s not just his business acumen or valuable content that gets him all the attention of his followers. When it comes to her personal life, she managed to set high standards for all of us in terms of finding the right partner, getting along with in-laws, and keeping marriage and career hand in hand. Considering herself lucky to have found a partner who helped change the trajectory of her life, she urges all women to go, try, fail and succeed in finding the real you. Her mantra of a successful marriage is to muster up the courage to have awkward conversations and keep the spark alive with the little things. From choosing not to have children, to leaving her in-laws’ house to build her own nest, to wearing many hats while being a married woman, Siltani has given us a new vision of femininity.

Her dynamic personality speaks volumes about the fact that she is a bold and high-spirited woman who believes that success always comes from uplifting other women in the industry. She gets goosebumps when she sees women taking the lead in their lives and doing something of their own. Friend of someone, anonymous sister, secret confidante and above all, model for all, she wants women to break the ceilings and lead the world.

Chic, elegant and extremely warm, Sitlani sat down for an exclusive conversation with Brown Girl’s Magazine. We had an amazing conversation about her journey to becoming a top content creator, a rising entrepreneur, and balancing marriage and profession on a healthy note.

I am a girl who dreams of a destiny greater than she allows. After having tested my skills in the field of management and marketing, I tried my hand at writing. My penchant for writing stems from the fact that I have been an avid reader all my life. My work motivates me and I want to break all stereotypes and ceilings to stay off the beaten track.
